Jiu Jitsu has been a major part of Rob Goodson's life for more than two decades. Although he originally began training in the Gi, Rob spent nine years immersed in MMA and NoGi grappling before eventually returning to his Gi roots and continuing his development as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner and coach.

For over ten years Rob has coached students across different levels of experience, helping beginners find confidence whilst also supporting competitors preparing for the demands of competition. His coaching style is energetic, direct and heavily focused on techniques that have proven themselves through live training and competition.

Within Praetorian MMA, Rob has played a significant role in developing the club's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu programme. His passion for Jiu Jitsu is infectious, his standards are high and his commitment to helping students improve has helped transform the games of countless members over the years.

20 YEARS TRAINING

Rob has trained in martial arts for more than two decades, developing through Gi, NoGi, MMA and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

BJJ BROWN BELT

A Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt with strong technical understanding, high standards and a practical approach to coaching.

9 YEARS MMA & NOGI

After starting in the Gi, Rob spent nine years focused on MMA and NoGi grappling before returning to Gi Jiu Jitsu.

10+ YEARS COACHING

Rob has been coaching for more than ten years, helping students develop confidence, skill and competition-ready habits.

COMPETITION DRIVEN

Rob’s coaching is built around techniques that work under pressure, with a strong focus on live training and proven application.

Rob teaches adult MMA and Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu throughout the week and is available for private coaching sessions.

Outside of regular classes, you'll often find Rob working with members in private sessions and continuing to develop students alongside Martyn after evening classes have finished.
