Junior & Teen Kickboxing at Praetorian MMA
Safe, Structured Kickboxing for Children
Junior & Teen Kickboxing at Praetorian MMA
Junior and teen kickboxing at Praetorian MMA is designed for young people aged 6–16, with training structured differently for juniors and teens to ensure safe, confident progression from beginner level upwards.
Our programme supports both younger children taking their first steps into martial arts and older teens ready for greater challenge — all within the same academy pathway.
When is the class?
This class is every Monday night at 19:30 hours and lasts up to 90 minutes.
Who is my coach?
Your coach for this session is Kieran Pugh who is pictured at the start of this page.
Is it beginner friendly
All of our classes are beginner-friendly. If it’s your first time, simply let the coach know — you’ll be welcomed, supported, and guided throughout the session.
For the best experience, don’t be afraid to talk, ask questions, and get involved. You’re here to make friends, learn new skills, and develop at your own pace. This is the start of your journey, not the end — and we’re excited to be part of it with you.

Encouragement over pressure
Progression without rushing children before they are ready
Younger children are supported and nurtured.
Older teens are challenged and developed responsibly.

Beginner-Friendly Kickboxing for Juniors and Teens
No Experience Needed to Start
Junior and teen kickboxing at Praetorian MMA is designed for young people with no previous martial arts experience.
We introduce skills gradually and focus on:
Clear instruction and repetition
Age-appropriate drills for juniors and teens
Confidence building from the very first session
Safe, supported partner work
Children and teens are never rushed, compared, or pushed beyond their ability.
What Equipment Is Needed?
For initial sessions:
Sports clothing is fine
Gloves can be borrowed
A gumshield is strongly recommended
As teens progress, we’ll advise on suitable personal equipment.
Progression From Juniors to Teens and Beyond
From Confidence to Skill Development
Our kickboxing programme is designed as a clear pathway.
Juniors develop the foundations needed for teen training
Teens build confidence, responsibility, and technical skill
Older teens may transition into adult classes when appropriate
Progression is always coach-led, never automatic, and based on readiness rather than age alone.

You ask, we answer
Got a question? You’re not alone. Whether you’re unsure where to start or just want to know what to expect, we’re here to help. Our team is always happy to answer your questions and make sure you feel confident before stepping onto the mats.
No experience is needed at all. Many of our members start with zero background in martial arts or fitness. Our coaches guide you step by step, and you’ll train at a pace that suits you.
Yes. You don’t need to be fit to begin — training is how you build fitness. Classes are scalable for all levels, and you’ll improve at your own pace.
Comfortable sportswear is perfect for your first session. For grappling classes, a t-shirt and shorts without pockets are ideal. We’ll guide you on equipment once you get started.
Not at all. While we support competition for those who want it, many of our members train for fitness, confidence, self-defence, or enjoyment. There’s no pressure to compete.
That depends on your goals and schedule. Some members train once or twice a week, others more frequently. We’ll help you find a routine that works for you.
Safety is a top priority at Praetorian MMA. Sessions are structured, controlled, and coached by experienced instructors. We promote safe training practices and a respectful environment at all times.
If you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out. We’re always happy to help.
